Remarks: A rare, totally original Style 22 Lyon & Healy harp from the 1930s. This harp has a very special sound with real depth and richness from its maturity but also absolute clarity in the higher registers and balance across the whole instrument. It was hardly played for the first 80 years of its life and was never used as a working instrument, hence its impeccable condition. It has been regularly serviced by Billy Hornby over the last 4 years and used for solo recitals, chamber music and orchestral work. The gilding is in excellent condition for its age. Though 46 strings, it has a big, clear sound which projects incredibly well.
